Los Altos Passive House

This building is designed in a mediterranean style by the late architect George Laskowicz. Its focal point is a stately Oak tree around which the building wraps with a round courtyard. The courtyard establishes the nexus of the East and South building wings which house the living/kitchen/dining areas and private quarters/guest rooms respectively.
The building is designed to meet Passive House standards with sheep wool insulation in the wall cavities and 2″ thick rigid mineral wool panels by ROXUL wrapping the entire building on the outside. A water and air resistant membrane by SIGA as well as additional air infiltration coatings on the inside result in Passive House Standard air tightness levels well under 0.6 air changes per hour at 50 Pascals.
